Why choose cotton lingerie

Cotton is the go-to fabric for intimate comfort. It is a natural fibre, soft against the skin and breathable, absorbing moisture instead of trapping it. It suits sensitive skin and is easy to wash.

Jersey adds suppleness: it is a knit rather than a woven fabric, so it stretches and follows the body’s movements. The KITTY and GRRR product pages describe their fabric as “a soft, stretchy cotton”. It is of European origin, and the designer, Chloé, makes up each piece herself.

The thongs also have a 100% cotton gusset, which the pages present as a promise of “breathable comfort”.

Two prints, two personalities

KITTY: little red hearts

The KITTY collection: white jersey printed with little red hearts. It is the sweeter of the two prints, fresh and a little mischievous, as right for every day as for Valentine’s Day.

GRRR: leopard with red hearts

The GRRR collection: a leopard print scattered with little red hearts. The leopard keeps its bold edge, the hearts soften it. Lingerie with character that does not take itself too seriously.

Either way, the print does all the work: no lace, no underwire, no sheerness to think about. These are simple pieces, made to be worn often, that add some fun to a more classic lingerie drawer.

The pieces: thongs and tank tops

Each collection has two pieces that match each other.

• The KITTY thong and the GRRR thong (€35 each): 100% cotton jersey, 100% cotton gusset, decorative elastic, mid-rise. Their pages describe them as made “to keep you company every day”. They come in sizes S to XXL.

The tank top and thong from the same collection make a complete nightwear set. Nothing stops you from mixing the two prints, either: a KITTY tank top with a GRRR thong, or the other way round, with the red hearts tying them together.

A cotton thong, really comfortable?

Thongs have a reputation for being uncomfortable, often because of the fabric or a cut that is too tight. The KITTY and GRRR thongs take the opposite approach: soft, stretchy cotton jersey, a cotton gusset and a mid-rise that holds without squeezing. Choosing your size

• Thongs: sizes S to XXL. Noémia, a French size 36, wears S in KITTY; Audrey, a size 38, wears M in GRRR.
• Tank tops: one size, which fits from a French 34 to 40. The KITTY tank top’s page says it fits from XS to L, and that it is worn by Noémia, a size 36, and Audrey, a size 38. In GRRR, Audrey is a size M.

Stretchy jersey is a little more forgiving than lace: between two thong sizes, the more comfortable one is often the size where the elastic does not mark the skin.

Caring for printed cotton lingerie

For the KITTY and GRRR thongs, the product pages state:

• Wash at 40°C maximum
• Do not bleach
• Iron at low temperature
• Do not dry clean
• Do not tumble dry
• Always wash the item before wearing it

To keep a print crisp, wash inside out, with similar colours, and let it dry in the open air.
